New York Strip Clubs: Get the facts straight before clamping down on NYC mosque

It’s an interesting innovation to suggest that American freedoms should be no greater than those of repressive nations. What’s next? No political protests in Washington until political protests are allowed in Pyongyang?
The project has caused other Republicans to take leave of their better judgment. Sarah Palin urged New Yorkers to stop it. Carl Paladino, a candidate for governor of New York, says he would use the power of eminent domain to take over the property.
But let’s not overreact. Much of what we’ve heard about the building is not quite true. It’s not a mosque: It’s a 13-story, YMCA-style community center, with a gym, pool, lecture hall, performing arts venue and library, all of which will be open to the public and it will have a mosque occupying one floor.
It’s not at or next to Ground Zero: It’s two blocks away, in an area of tall commercial buildings and at least one gentleman’s club.

In the process they find renewed self-esteem, the importance of friendship and the ability to have fun. As the guys work through their fears, self-consciousness, feelings of worthlessness and anxieties (over everything from being overweight to child custody, bigotry to being gay), they come to discover that not only are they stronger as a group, but that the strength they find in each other gives them the individual courage to face their demons and overcome them.

New York Strip Clubs: Louis XIII Holds Court at New York Strip Club

A white hummer pulled up in front of the club, and armed guards were on hand to meet it and escort the passengers. A welcoming committee, of sorts, waited on the red carpet, flanked by me and people like me. The passengers, of course, were a pair of Louis XIII Rare Cask de Remy Martin cognac bottles, and their destination club was the Rick’s Cabaret gentleman’s club in Manhattan.

Frankly, I was a bit surprised that a gentlemen’s club would get such a high allocation. Make no mistake: Rick’s Cabaret is an upscale establishment, and it provides a luxury service that can get as pricey as you’d like. But, it’s just not what you’d expect … it’s not what I’d expect, and I tend to be rather open-minded on these matters. I used to cover Rick’s Cabaret and had the pleasure of interviewing the company’s CEO, Eric Langan, on several occasions.

New York Strip Clubs: Zac Efron didn’t enjoy strip club

Zac Efron didn’t enjoy strip club
Cover Media
Zac Efron has admitted going to a strip club, but insists he told his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens before he went.
The 22-year-old teen heartthrob and two friends spent several hours at top New York gentlemen’s club Flashdancers on Sunday night. According to the New York Post, the group spent $2,000 on vodka and lap dances before leaving at 3am.
Zac, who shot to fame when he starred in Disney’s High School Musical franchise, has spoken about his visit to the club with US talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. He insisted he had made the “awkward” call to his girlfriend Vanessa to let her know where he was going.
“The hardest part was calling [my] girlfriend before. That’s the awkward call. How do you even start that conversation without sounding like a total a*****e? She was fine with it,” Zac said.

New York Adult Entertainment: Undercover Branch Brook Park patrol is suspended after fatal shooting of …

The sheriff’s action comes two weeks after the July 16 death of DeFarra Gaymon, 48, who authorities said was shot by an undercover officer after soliciting sex. Gaymon, the CEO of an Atlanta credit union, sought sex from the male undercover detective before lunging at the officer when he showed his badge, according to the officer’s statement to authorities. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is still investigating the shooting, and no charges have been filed.
The detective was a part of the five-year undercover operation, which Fontoura said came out of numerous complaints from park goers about the green spaces becoming pickup spots for gay men.

Critics of the park detail say it shifts precious resources from more pressing public safety concerns in and around Newark, though Fontoura maintains it is vital to keeping the park safe. He added that his officers on those assignments also make drug and prostitution arrests at the two spots.

New York Strip Clubs: The party goes on for brides-to-be

The party goes on for brides-to-be
By CHRIS JORDAN STAFF WRITER
July 30, 2010
A few short years ago, the word “bachelorette” didn’t exist.
Now, bachelorettes are everywhere. What’s a bride-to-be to do?
Party on, of course.
“We went to Lucky Chengs in New York, it was drag queen night,” said Kellie Montone, 26, of Hillsborough, of a bachelorette party she attended in the spring. Hers is coming up in September. “It was a little risque, but it wasn’t that bad.”
Montone isn’t sure if her party will take place in New York City or Atlantic City.
“I’ll probably just hang out with friends,” Montone said. “I don’t want strippers or anything like that. I’d kind of like it to be a party.”
While the parties that Montone likes are relatively tame, bachelorette events do come in all shapes and sizes, from the intimate gathering at home with friends to a big night out, rolling around town like celebs in a limo.

New York Strip Clubs: Doormen Never Die: Irv Johnson’s New York Memories

There’s a quote that goes, “Old doormen never die, they just fade away.” Or something like that. That’s the way Irv Johnson slipped off my radar. I always stopped to chat with Irv when he worked Pink Elephant. My nightly rounds brought me over to the 27th Street corridor, and Irv and another doorman, Stefan, were a constant. Then it was only Stefan, and then nobody bothered with 27th Street, and Irv was reduced to a rumor. Facebook linked us together again. Club people, like hookers and strippers, need to have an exit strategy. Very few make enough loot to retire to a condo in Miami, or a ranch in Montana. For many, it’s just a roller coaster ride of loot, toot and booty. Many, like myself, one night find themselves too old and disinterested, and look to get out. Nightlife isn’t good for most resumes, and unless they have a plan, they have a problem. I managed to segue into design and w …

New York Strip Clubs: ‘So, Highschool Musical Features Walks Into a Strip Joint…’

If you’ve ever been to Times Square, you’ve probably walked past Flashdancer’s Gentlemen’s Club. Having been there recently (New York, not the bitty bar in question), I can report that it looks like a suitably seedy joint – from the outside.
We saw groups of men leaving there, at varying levels of inebriation, and lone men (mainly the large, sweating and bearded of the species) being turned away. That’s all very well and good, but what jarred me were the men that’d been recruited by the establishment to tout for business on the surrounding streets. We’re talking pot bellied, middle aged, ruddy faced, boozed imbued vagrants in “Flashdancer’s Gentlemen’s Club” singlets, thrusting flyers in your face via a cruddy claw. To be frank, a lot of them looked homeless. Mmmm. Sexy. If these were the chosen representatives, what in the name of Jaysis would the creatures dancing inside be like?
