Mariana E. Caranza, 55, of North Bergen, was charged with engaging in prostitution as part of a sweep in Bergen County last week.
A Hudson County man and woman are among 36 people arrested on prostitution-related charges in a major sweep by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office that also resulted in seizure of more than $60,000, officials said.
On Wednesday, Mariana E. Caranza, 55, of North Bergen, was charged with engaging in prostitution, and Javione J. Lessane, 35, of Hoboken, was charged with facilitating prostitution, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced today.
The pair was charged with 13 others arrested at various hotels in Paramus, officials said, adding that Lessane is charged with being a driver for alleged prostitutes.
The investigation targeted numerous illegal massage parlors and “in-call” prostitution operations in Bergen County hotels, officials said.
