Attempting to snatch Gay Pride’s title of “Sexiest Event this Sunday” is the over-18s-only walking tour “A History of Jews, Sex, and Politics on the Lower East Side” (The Educational Alliance, 197 East Broadway between Clinton and Jefferson Sts; kinkyjews.com; 2pm $15). Organizers Kinky Jews will regale you with tales of Jewish prostitution, pornographers, burlesque, erotica and fetishes.
For a more wholesome day outdoors, head to the Smith Street Festival (Smith St from Union St to Bergen St; 11am–6pm, free) for food, shopping, music from local bands and a cheese-eating competition at 2pm. Last year’s winner scarfed an astounding 14.9 oz of cheese in under two minutes.
