New York Massage Parlors: Craigslist goes from ‘erotic’ to ‘adult’
Another recent case involved
Philip Markoff, a Boston man who’s pleaded not guilty in the April murder of
masseuse Julissa Brisman. The two reportedly met through Craigslist’s erotic
services section. Several media outlets have dubbed Markoff the
“Craigslist killer.”
“Offer or solicitation of
illegal prostitution” is included on Craigslist’s list of prohibited
items. However, postings in the erotic services section could be fairly
explicit about what services were available in exchange for payment.
One ad posted in the “men for
men” section of the erotic services listing on May 12 showed a photo of a
man wearing only bikini briefs. The ad text read, in part, “We are around
… for erotic massage, companionship, and a whole lot more!” and ended
with “Oh, and we are looking for very generous men (WE ARE GOOD!)”
